Natural Mind II

Last week we talked about, and practiced with, the experience of the Natural Mind: the “relaxed mind,” the “mind free of disturbances.” This experience is the natural result of meditation and, with regular practice, can be present in our day-to-day experience, outside of our sitting practice.

But, what is the benefit of resting in our “Natural Mind,” the Aware Being that is present in all of our experience?

Here is a quote from the book The Infinite Way by Joel Goldsmith:

The peace within becomes the harmony without. As our thought takes on the nature of the inner freedom, it loses its sense of fear, doubt, or discouragement. As the realization of our dominion dawns in thought, more assurance, confidence, and certainty become evident. We become a new being, and the world reflects back to us our own higher attitude toward it. Gradually an understanding of our fellow man and his problems unfolds to us from within, and more love flows out from us – more tolerance, co-operativeness, helpfulness, and compassion.

In other words, we become a more fulfilled and generous person, with ourselves and with others.
